While out on their world tour A Head Full of DreamsColdplay have been making space in their setlists for a number of cover songs. There’s been left-field choices featuring surprising guests — like when Michael J. Fox came out to perform classics from the Back to the Future soundtrack. Other times, it’s been heartfelt tributes, as with their take on Viola Beach’s “Boys that Sing” at Glastonbury. Saturday evening’s gig in Philly featured a song choice tailor fit for the location, as Chris Martin paid respects to the City of Brotherly Love by taking on Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets of Philadelphia”.

Martin performed the song to cap off the acoustic portion of the set, reading off a lyric sheet for part of the time. Alone with his guitar and a loop peddle, the frontman sang out with a Lincoln Financial Field-sized crowd of Philadelphian backup singers. Check out video of the performance above.
