Rumors of beef between Drake and Eminem that have been floating about for the last few weeks were effectively squashed last night when the two rappers appeared onstage together in Detroit. Drizzy brought out the hometown hero as a special guest during his Summer Sixteen tour, and they both quickly went to work to perform “Forever”, the 2007 Lil Wayne posse cut that also features Kanye West.
“Make some noise for the greatest rapper to ever get on a microphone – he goes by the name of Eminem,” the OVO Sound honcho told the rapturous crowd before Marshall Mathers himself emerged from a trap door in the center of the stage of the Joe Louis Arena. Later, Em returned the kind words, saying, “It’s an honor to share the stage with this man right here.”
After the show, Drake posted an Instagram picture of the two of them hanging out backstage, captioned: “SHARED THE STAGE WITH THE GOAT FOR DETROIT. DONE THE HYPE.” Check that out below, followed by videos and photos of their showstopping performance.
Previously on his Summer Sixteen tour, Drake brought out Kanye West, LeBron James, Rihanna, and J. Cole.
