“Immersive” Game of Thrones concert tour to bring Seven Kingdoms to life

Composer Ramin Djawadi will take fans on a musical journey

    Note: Some spoilers ahead.

The new season of Game of Thrones may be premiering a little later than fans expected, but they’ll have something pretty fantastic to tide them over: An epic Game of Thrones musical concert tour will be rolling through cities all across North America early next year.

Billed as an “immersive music and visual experience,” each concert features a headlining performance from the hit show’s Grammy-nominated composer Ramin Djawadi. Along with an orchestra and choir, Djawadi will bring the Seven Kings to life with the help of stunning visual footage — some directly lifted from the show, others created exclusively for the live show.

Indeed, audience members may have the opportunity to relive such iconic moments as the Red Wedding, the dramatic birth of Khaleesi’s dragons, the Battle of the Bastards led by Jon Snow (as seen above), Khaleesi’s not one, but two triumphant fire scenes, and my personal favorite from Season Six, Cersei’s masterful burning of King’s Landing.

“For seven years, Ramin has been blowing our mind with his music’s force, subtlety, and endless inventiveness,” said Game of Thrones creators/executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss in a press release. “The GoT Concert Experience will be unique in the history of concert tours, an eye-popping, ear-splitting, phantasmagoric blend of the show’s visuals and Ramin’s powerful compositions. We are more excited for it than anyone.”

Considering Game of Thrones’ end is in sight, the tour should be a nice way to extend the show’s influence. Check out the full itinerary. Tickets go on sale August 13th.
