It’s no secret that Jack White has an affinity for the game of baseball. While out on the tour, the rock god often uses the opportunity to visit our country’s many ballparks; his trip to Wrigley Field a few years back was particularly infamous. He threw out the first pitch prior to a Tigers game in his hometown of Detroit, and he even recently invested in his own line of baseball bats. Turns out White also enjoys playing the game himself.
On Friday, White’s Third Man Records participated in a celebrity baseball game at the University of North Alabama. Wearing a throwback uniform the style of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ old digs (and of course sporting the number three), White played first base and took a few cracks at bat. Check out some photos below (via AL.com).
The game was part of an annual Shindig hosted in Florence, Alabama by designer Billy Reid.
