Koko the Gorilla jams out with Flea on bass guitar

The world’s most famous gorilla recently met the world’s most famous Flea. Koko — the uber intelligent ape whose love of cats and ability to sign language has made him a viral celebrity — recently received a bass lesson from the Red Hot Chili Peppers co-founder.

According to The Gorilla Foundation’s website, “Koko was thrilled by the mellow sounds and a jamming session followed with Koko strumming on Flea’s bass!” The website adds, “Watch for more news on future collaborations between the two.”

Hopefully Damon Albarn catches word and invites Koko down to Jamaica to record some bass licks for the new Gorillaz album.
