Just one day after hipster President Barack Obama dropped his two-part summer playlist on the world, Vice President Joe Biden has teamed up with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, to offer up their own list of ready-made summer jams. The Bidens’ summer playlist doesn’t offer up quite so many “deep cuts” as Barry’s did, erring on the side of mainstream America with songs from Bruce Springsteen, Sam Smith, Coldplay, Adele, Lady Gaga, Tina Turner, and Rod Stewart. We’re not sure what it is about Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” that screams summertime, but then again, we’re also not the Vice President of the United States. In any case, the Bidens’ playlist has to be seen as somewhat of a letdown after Obama’s massive 39-track collection, which features tracks from Courtney Barnett, Chance the Rapper, Janelle Monáe, and D’Angelo. Keep doing what you do, Mr. President.
