The Dear Hunter are set to return with Act V: Hymns With The Devil In Confessionalthe fifth entry in their long-running concept series, on September 9th (via Cave & Canary Goods/Equal Vision Records). After sharing lead single “Gloria”, Casey Crescenzo and the boys return today with “The Revival”.

Well, it’s not just the boys this time. According to Crescenzo, the track “features some incredible background work from two incredible women – my mother Judy Crescenzo, and my girlfriend Tivoli Breckenridge.” Their voices, mixed with the added swing of a horn section, gives the prog-rock track a vaudevillian vibe.

Which is fitting, because the song seems to be about the reopening of The Dime, the brothel within a church first mentioned way back in Act I: The Lake South, The River North. What’s worse, it seems the concept story’s protagonist, The Dear Hunter himself, has had a hand in the revival: “Long was this road that I’ve wandered/ But short did my temperance live/ And here I’ve helped him build a temple to deify this czar of sin.”
