For a long time, Adam West’s Batman ’66 had a bad rap. Mega fans of the grimdark world of the post-Miller Caped Crusader couldn’t vibe with an intentionally goofy send-up of their grizzled hero. But decades of superheavy Bat stories (and the success of Marvel‘s primary-colored universe), have opened up a lane for a return to a silly Batman. That’s where Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders comes in.
The new animated feature features voicework from Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar, reprising the roles they played 50 years ago. The trailer shows how well they slot back into their old parts and a few well placed “Pows!” and “Thwaps!” should get even the most hardened Batfan excited.
Check out the trailer up top and look for the DVD to drop on October 11th.
