Fred Armisen and Bill Hader’s high-concept mockumentary series Documentary Now! is great all around. But the Saturday Night Live alums seem to kick it into another gear when they lampoon the ripe field of music docs. Their prodding of soft-rock titans like the Eagles and America as the Blue Jean Committee was a standout of last season, and this year Armisen and Hader are taking on the Talking Heads’ classic concert film Stop Making Sense.

The duo unveiled their David Byrne-aping schtick — which they’ve dubbed Test Pattern —  on Tuesday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers. And much in the same way that Blue Jean Committee made fun of yacht rockers and Chicagoans in equal measure, Test Pattern take on post-punk and art students with tracks like “Art + Student = Poor”.

The group fully commit to the art student schtick, covering the set in old televisions that broadcast clip art of technology and status symbols in between words like “Monopoly” and “Self-Assurance.” Check it out up top.
