David Lynch shares new teaser for Twin Peaks featuring Angelo Badalamenti — watch

An exciting new preview ahead of the show's 2017 revival

Twin Peaks

The wait for Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival is nearing conclusion. Last month, Showtime executives set an early 2017 release for the show’s third season, marking the first time new episodes of the David Lynch cult favorite will air since 1991. In anticipation, the network has unveiled a new teaser trailer featuring the show’s composer, Angelo Badalamenti, performing a snippet of his original, recently reissued score.

As previously reported, a mind-numbing total of 217 (!) actors are set to appear in the forthcoming season. Many will be reprising their original characters, including Kyle MacLachlan (FBI Agent Dale Cooper), Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne), David Patrick Kelly (Jerry Horne), Richard Beymer (Ben Horne), Miguel Ferrer (FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs), Michael Horse (Deputy Hawk), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran), Mädchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), Log Lady (Catherine Coulson), Denise Bryson (David Duchovny), Gordon Cole (David Lynch), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer), and Russ Tamblyn (Dr. Larence Jacoby).

A number of others will be visiting Twin Peaks for the first time, and there are some big names on the passenger list. Among them: musicians Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, Sky Ferreira, Ruth Radelet, and Sharon Van Etten, as well as A-list actors like Amanda SeyfriedAshley Judd, Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Michael Cera, Monica Bellucci, and Tim Roth.

As of early August, Lynch had finished principal filming after shooting the entire season as if it was one continuous film. Lynch was currently editing all that footage into individual episodes, though at the time the total number of episodes had yet to be nailed down. Showtime has also not yet set an exact date for the show’s premiere, but the network has teased an “unconventional release.”
