Dungen announce new album Häxan, share instrumental track “Jakten Genom Skogen” — listen

Swedish psych rockers get cinematic on album inspired by Lotte Reiniger’s 1926 film The Adventures of Prince Achmed

Dungen’s last album, 2015’s Allas Sak, came after a five-year absence that felt interminable to fans of the Swedish psych rockers. Frontman Gustav Ejstes and co. aren’t waiting so long this time around. As Dungen announced today via Pitchfork, they’ll be releasing a new album entitled Häxan and inspired by their work on an original score to Lotte Reiniger’s 1926 animated film The Adventures of Prince Achmed.

Häxan will be released via Mexican Summer as part of Record Store Day on November 25th. Dungen have shared the first track, a dreamy, cinematic instrumental called “Jakten genom Skogen”, which you can stream below.
