Kings of Leon return with new single “Waste a Moment” — listen

Our first taste of the band's upcoming album, Walls

Kings of Leon swapped the humid Southeast for the spaciousness of the West Coast on their upcoming album Walls, due out next month. “We said, ‘Let’s fucking go to L.A., eat some sushi, get some sunshine,’” Caleb Followill explained to Billboard. “The whole thing just felt a lot more organic.”

There’s an evident “chillness” and breeze to the LP’s newly unveiled lead single “Waste a Moment” — the kind that can be likened to a late-night cruise down the Golden State’s many cliffside freeways, hair blowing in the wind. “Oh, take the time to waste a moment/ Oh, never ask to be forgiven,” Followill sings during the chorus; one can pretty much imagine the frontman cranking up the speed on his Ferrari to 100mph with no intentions of ever looking or coming back. Stream it up above.

Walls, the follow-up to 2013’s Mechanical Bull, arrives on October 14th via RCA; pre-orders have begun today.
