It’s always a good day when we get to watch Oscar Isaac and Christian Bale together in a film. Even better when they’re fighting the Ottoman Empire and the likes of Charlotte Le Bon, Jean Reno, and James Cromwell get involved.
Hotel Rwanda director Terry George returns with The Promise, which tells the true story about an American journalist (Bale), a medical student (Isaac), and a French sophisticate (Le Bon) fighting for love amid the Armenian genocide.
The film makes its debut at this week’s Toronto International Film Festival, but lucky you, there’s a new trailer to watch above. Sweeping shots and tense scenes make this one something to look forward to in the near, near future.
