How Lynchian: The legend himself David Lynch throws an exhaustive two-day festival and not one exclusive video of Showtime’s Twin Peaks surfaces throughout the entire weekend. Now, a week removed from the festivities, we have a captivating behind-the-scenes vignette, complete with first looks at Special Agent Dale Cooper, the Sheriff’s Department, and a few other locales.
“We knew it was going to be special,” says Kyle MacLachlan. “We just didn’t know what form or how. There’s nothing I can say to describe it, it’s been absolutely wonderful.”
In addition to Coop, we also get two cents from Miguel Ferrer, Kimmy Robertson, Dana Ashbrook, Amy Shiels, James Marshall, Robert Knepper, Chrysta Bell, Harry Goaz, and the one and only Jim Belushi. It’s going to send fans into a frenzied wave and should make for a nice accoutrement to this week’s release of Mark Frost’s novel, The Secret History of Twin Peaks.
Again, there’s no release date for Twin Peaks, but it’ll happen sometime in 2017. In the meantime, revisit our recent dissection of Lynch’s entire filmography, from Eraserhead through Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive and capping off with Inland Empire, in addition to our friendly Lynchian discussion with the likes of St. Vincent, Rhye, and Chris Stein and Debbie Harry of Blondie.
