Beginning today, Netflix is offering offline streaming

Subscribers can now download TV series and movies for viewing when an Internet connection is nowhere to be found

Subscribers of Netflix can now stream television shows and movies without an Internet connection. Today, the company added offline streaming to its offerings. The new feature is included in all plans at no additional cost, and is available for phones and tablets on Android and iOS.

Several Netflix originals including Stranger ThingsOrange is The New BlackNarcos, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are already available to download for offline viewing. As are binge-worthy TV shows such as Parks and Recreation and The Office and full-length movies like Minions and Home. Additional content will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their ‘Stranger Things’ binge while on airplanes and other places where internet is expensive or limited,” the company said in a statement. “Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.”
