In August 2015, Compton rapper Jaycecon Terrell Taylor, a.k.a. The Game, was hit with a $10 million lawsuit stemming from allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman named Priscilla Rainey. Now, after just hours of deliberation, a jury in Illinois has ruled in favor of Rainey and ordered Taylor to pay up $7.13 million.

In her suit, Rainey claimed Taylor groped her repeatedly while “out of control” and drunk when she was on the rapper’s She’s Got Game VH1 reality show. Taylor’s defense argued that Rainey was not credible due to her past work as a prostitute and time spent in a mental institution.

This is just the latest troubling incident on Taylor’s long rap sheet. Previously, he’d been tangled up in legal drama related to disorderly conduct, defamation, and weapons charges. It’s also a blight on an otherwise productive 2016, which saw the release of two Game projects: his eighth studio album, 1992, and his Block Wars soundtrack.
