“Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd has somehow evolved into the unofficial soundtrack for the #MannequinChallenge, the latest Internet trend that sees people standing still while a camera pans around. Some artists might go in a different direction, but you just knew when an actual Beatle got involved, they’d stick with the classic. And that’s exactly what Paul McCartney did for his entry in the viral trend.
Macca’s video sees him with one hand on a piano, looking up like he’s delivering a glorious note to the heavens. Of course, he didn’t choose any old section of “Black Beatles” to play under the tableau; he went with Slim Jxmmi’s perfectly suited line, “Black Beatle, bitch/ me and Paul McCartney related.” “Love those Black Beatles,” reads the video’s caption.
