Soundtracks to Marvel’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones being released on vinyl

Mondo adds two Defenders after already releasing the Luke Cage score.

Marvel’s Netflix series are applaudable accomplishments in almost all aspects, and that includes soundtracks. Mondo has already celebrated the Luke Cage score by A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammed and composer Adrian Younge with a vinyl release, and now it’s giving the Daredevil and Jessica Jones OSTs similar treatments.

Composed by John Paesano, the Daredevil Season One Original Soundtrack will be pressed on red vinyl and limited to 3,000 copies. The score features music from the already iconic “Hallway Fight” and the introduction of “Stick”. The Jessica Jones Season One Original Soundtrack, meanwhile, was penned by Sean Callery. Callery won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for “Jessica Jones Main Title”, a jazzy noir track that crescendoes into wailing guitar at the end. The OST will be pressed on two purple vinyl LPs, again limited to 3,000 copies.

Both soundtracks will be available online beginning Wednesday, November 9th at noon. They’ll also be sold at a special release party being held the same day at Brooklyn’s new Alamo Draft House theater. Younge will be performing a live DJ set, and the event is free.
