The first family hosted their last National Christmas Tree Lighting at the White House on Thursday (sad face). A handful of musicians were invited to perform as part of the event, including one of President Obama’s favorite rappers, the incomparable Chance the Rapper.
The Chicago MC, who was in town not too long ago for the White House State Dinner, offered up a soulful variation of Coloring Book highlight “Sunday Candy”. He was accompanied onstage by frequent collaborators Nico Segal, fka Donnie Trumpet, and The Social Experiment. Later in the evening, he joined the President in a festive group singalong of “Jingle Bells”.
Check out footage below.
Also, it looks like the President isn’t the only Obama digging Lil Chano’s flow. Check out daughter Sasha rapping along to “Sunday Candy”:
Consequence of Sound recently named Chance’s Coloring Book one of the best albums of 2016.
