There are a few reliable tropes in the clichéd rap video. Someone will pour some sort of alcohol, most likely champagne, over themselves or a woman. Female booties will be shaken at the camera, possibly many booties simultaneously while one rapper’s smiling head bobs between them. A crew of people you don’t recognize but are apparently important to the rapper(s) will bounce about each other in some sort of posse dance mob. There will be lap dances. There will be smoke blown in giant plumes.
All these things make appearances in Die Antwoord’s new video for “Fat Faded Fuck Face”, but because it’s Die Antwoord, it’s all been done in Zef style. That means everything’s considerably creepier, way dirtier, and it’s all covered in squiggly line cartoons and crude slogans. ¥o-landi Visser herself directed and edited the clip, which is extremely NSFW due to graphic and close-up nudity.
