Both of Billie Joe Armstrong’s sons — Jakob Danger playing solo and Joey Armstrong performing with his band SWMRS — appeared at Oakland’s 1-2-3-4 Go! record store on Sunday for a show benefitting the families of the 36 lives lost during the GhostShip fire earlier this month. The bill also promised appearances from “family and friends,” so no one was too surprised when Green Day showed up for a mini-set of their own. Expected or not, however, the intimate gig sounded pretty epic.

Backed by SWMRS, the Bay Area pop-punk icons played a five-song set for the small crowd. According to the SF Gate, the setlist included “Armatage Shanks”, “Stuck With Me”, “Scattered”, and “Waiting”, with Danger joining in on guitar for “Murder City”. After all was said and done, the charity event raised over $3,000, so it was both a beneficial and memorable evening.
