Director Doug Liman got our attention back in 2014 with his surprisingly inventive sci-fi war thriller Edge of Tomorrow, and he’ll be returning to the battlefield for his next film. Rather than pitting mankind against an advanced alien civilization, however, The Wall trains its sights on two US soldiers (John Cena and Aaron Taylor-Johnson) who get pinned behind enemy lines and must fight off an Iraqi sniper, with only a crumbling wall separating them from the unseen marksman.
Produced by Amazon Studios and Roadside Attractions, The Wall arrives in US theaters on March 10th, 2017. Check out the new trailer above.
As for Liman’s burgeoning sci-fi franchise, he opened up on his intentions for the next Edge of Tomorrow film in a recent interview with Collider, calling it “a sequel that’s a prequel.”
