Dapper Southern lads Kings of Leon stopped by Ellen on Tuesday to perform “Reverend”, the latest single off their new album WALLS. The big, anthemic rock song has become one of the band’s favorites to play live (they also played it on Kimmel just over a month ago), and it doesn’t take a genius to guess why. “Reverend” is Kings of Leon at their best, a sprawling yet straightforward rock song that pairs frontman Caleb Followill’s booming voice with a swirling lead guitar melody from brother Matthew Followill.
