According to Variety, Walton Goggins is in final negotiations to join the Alicia Vikander-starring Tomb Raider reboot as the antagonist in the film. Directed by Roar Uthaug, the movie will “tell the story of a young and untested Croft fighting to survive her first adventure.” Recently Warner Bros announced a March 16th, 2018 release date.

Veteran actor Goggins is coming off the first season of HBO’s hit series Vice Principal  and recently starred in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. He’s also known for memorable TV roles on The Shield and Justified.

The casting is no sure thing, however, as Daisy Ridley was once in consideration for the lead role in Tomb Raider before it went to Vikander.
