Yasiin Bey debuts new project Dec. 99th on Fallon — watch

Retiring rapper aka Mos Def and producer Ferrari Sheppard perform "Seaside Panic Room" and "N.A.W."

Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, is in the midst of his farewell lap as he prepares to retire from entertainment. Even as he’s on his way out, however, he’s introducing new projects into the world, including a collaboration with producer Ferrari Shappard, dubbed, Dec. 99th. The duo released their anticipated December 99th debut LP earlier this week. Last night, they celebrated with their first — and most likely last — late night TV appearance on Fallon. They performed a mashup of “Seaside Panic Room” and “N.A.W.”, and you can replay the performance above.

December 99th is one of three new albums Bey plans to release before calling it a day. Another is entitled Negus In Natural person, while the last is a collaboration with Mannie Fresh called As Promised. Somewhere in there is a track where Bey raps over Tame Impala.
