The apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree.
Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of former president George W. Bush, co-hosted NBC’s pre-show Golden Globes coverage. When Pharrell Williams came strolling down the red carpet, she grabbed him for a interview. However, things went quickly downhill when daughter Bush lauded Pharrell for his nomination in a non-existent film called Hidden Fences.
As Twitter was quick to point out, Bush seemingly mixed up Hidden Figures — the true story of black female mathematicians who contributed to NASA’s first successful space missions, and Fences — an adaptation of August Wilson’s Pulitzer-winning play exploring the black experience and race relations in the 1950s.
Update: Welp, at least Bush has company.
