Our First 100 Days compilation to benefit organizations against Trump’s policies

Angel Olsen, Mitski, Mountain Goats, Toro Y Moi, Jens Lekman, Will Oldham, Bully, and more contribute

In just one week, President-Elect Donald Trump will begin his first 100 days in office, a time when incoming presidents tend to start implementing their policies with fervor. That means things like reproductive rights, immigration, climate change, and the LGBTQ community will all be under immediate threat if Trump’s rhetoric is to be believed. Instead of sitting idly by, Secretly Group and the team behind 30 Songs, 30 Days have joined forces to launch Our First 100 Days, a singles compilation benefitting organizations that support causes endangered by the new administration.

Beginning on January 20th at noon EST, Our First 100 Days will release a new song by a different artist every day until April 30th. Musicians contributing to the compilation include Angel Olsen, How To Dress Well, Toro Y Moi, Whitney, The Range, Mitski, Tim Heidecker, Bully, Will Oldham, Beach Fossils, PWR BTTM, Jens Lekman, Strand of Oaks, Into It. Over It., Torres, Mountain Goats, Rob Crow, Twin Peaks, Nothing, and more.

Subscriptions are going for a minimum contribution of $30, with backers receiving a new download each day. All profits will go to help fund a group of organizations each supporting at a different cause: The People’s Climate Movement (climate change), All Above All (reproductive rights), Cosecha (immigration), Southerners On New Ground (LGBTQ), and Hoosier Action (community building). Artist-focused non-profit Revolutions Per Minute will help facilitate the donations.

Secretly Group’s Phil Waldorf explained the goal of the compilation in a statement:

“Many of us woke up the morning after the election in a state of shock. Everything was different. We knew that we had to do something, and we are incredibly proud of what we are pulling together with Our First 100 Days. Not only is it a collection of great music, it is the music community coming together, supporting many important organizations who will be the first line of defense against the policies of the new administration. We hope that people not only love the music and discover some new things with this collection, but they see it as an easy way to make a contribution to a cross section of organizations that need the support right now.”

Pre-orders for Our First 100 Days are live now and available via Bandcamp.
