Rihanna is set to appear in the fifth and final season of Bates Motel, A&E’s prequel series to the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho. The Barbadian pop star has been tapped to portray the iconic role of Marion Crane, Norman Bates’ famed shower scene victim.
A trailer has been revealed today ahead of the season’s February 20th premiere, and it shows RiRi’s Crane character checking into the Bates Motel for the very first time, completely oblivious to the fate that awaits her. The “Work” singer knows a thing or two about on-screen gore, so it’ll be interesting to see how the show’s producers choose to utilize her talents. Added bonus: Radiohead’s ominous but aptly picked OK Computer cut “Exit Music (For a Film)” soundtracks the clip.
Check it out below.
Update — Thursday, February 23rd at 11:15 a.m. CT: A new trailer has been revealed this week. It features RiRi — who was recently crowned Humanitarian of the Year by Harvard University — briefly getting steamy with a love interest.
