Third Eye Blind will keep touring in 2017.

So what! So, what? So, let’s dance: The San Francisco rockers have announced that they’re going to play their 1997 self-titled album in full and follow the performance up with a bunch of other hits and more recent fare. In other words, good news for old fans who don’t really want to hear Stephan Jenkins rap about Black Lives Matter for five insufferable minutes.

Now, full album performances are traditionally a hit or miss situation, but this look actually works for Third Eye Blind. Although their debut has a hit-heavy first half — starting with opening track “Losing a Whole Year” and peaking with “How’s It Going to Be” — the second half is full of oft-ignored deep cuts and, you know, ultimate crowd pleaser: “Motorcycle Drive By”.

So, those looking to revisit their own salad days will likely find this tour to be a stellar night away from the kids. Even better, the opening band will be Silversun Pickups, who recently blew out 10 candles on their own debut album, proving once again that time flies when you’re having fun, we’re all getting old, and eventually we’ll all look like Donovan….
