The sequel to Ryan Reynolds’ filthy superhero smash Deadpool arrives in theaters on June 1st, 2018, and today we’ve been treated to a new preview of the film. While the above teaser offers the first action shots from the film itself, the real treat is seeing Reynolds in character as Deadpool in character as a drugged up Bob Ross.
As for clips from the actual film, we’re given smash cut glimpses of a number of returning characters: Deadpool’s love interest, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin); his bartender buddy, Weasel (T.J. Miller); his roommate, Blind Al (Leslie Uggams); and fiesty X-Man in training Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand). It also appears that taxi driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) may end up with a slightly increased role, as he’s seen locking and loading with Weasel and slow-walking with DP himself. There’s also a peak at Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz as newcomer Domino, and at the very end, the slightest tease of Josh Brolin’s Cable.
The currently untitled Deadpool 2 will also star Jack Kesy as an unidentified villain, though it’s rumored he’ll play Black Tom Cassidy. David Leitch directed from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (with “additional material” by Drew Goddard).
