The title track to St. Vincent’s most recent opus, MASSEDUCTION, got a lot of shine at last night’s Grammys. Not only did “Masseduction” take home Best Rock Song, but Annie Clark gave the song a new twist during her performance alongside Best New Artist winner Dua Lipa, incorporating elements of the English pop star’s own “One Kiss”. Today, St. Vinny is reminding everyone of the original version’s brilliance by unveiling the track’s accompanying music video.

In “Masseduction”, a rather psychedelic, hypnotic (or hypnotized?) Annie Clark stares off into the apocalypse while nuclear explosions send mushroom clouds into the sky behind her. There are also some unnerving faceless dancers and a perfectly St. Vincent-ian crown of hands, all set in a violet-hued aesthetic. Check out the clip below.
MASSEDUCTION also won Best Recording Package at Sunday’s Grammys, but lost Best Alternative Album to Beck’s Colors. St. Vincent and Lupa were two of the 31 women who took home gramophones last night, an 82% increase over 2018.
