Next month, Real Gone Music will mark the 20th anniversaries of two very different films with a surprising similarity. Both American Beauty and Galaxy Quest were released in 1999, the former an Academy Award-winning critical smash and the latter a quirky sci-fi cult comedy beloved by fans. Though the movies have little in common on the surface, they do have one familial connection: They were both scored by a Newman.

Thomas and David Newman have film scoring in their blood, with their father being the late Alfred Newman and their cousin the famed Randy Newman. Real Gone will celebrate their contribution to cinema by pressing their respective scores for American Beauty and Galaxy Quest to vinyl for the very first time.

With David’s Galaxy music coming first on May 3rd and Thomas’ Beauty score following on May 10th, we’re giving you a chance to stake your claim on both early. We’re giving away one (1) copy each of both the Galaxy Quest and American Beauty vinyl reissues to one (1) lucky winner. To enter, simply complete the widget below.
