On Wednesday night, Brandi Carlile stopped by Jimmy Fallon to debut her new single, “Right on Time.” The track appears on her just-announced upcoming album, In These Silent Days.
Carlile began the performance on the piano before making her way to the stage and joining her band on the guitar. Her passionate vocals rightfully drew cheers from the appreciative audience.
“I can feel it when your heart starts pounding,” Carlile sings. “It’s beyond your control, you know it is/ It’s getting to the point where I can’t carry on/ I never held my breath for quite this long.” Watch the performance below.
“Right on Time” is the lead single from In These Silent Days, which drew inspiration from Carlile’s recent memoir, Broken Horses. The 10-track album will arrive on October 1st via Low Country Sound/Elektra. It marks Carlile’s seventh LP to date, and the follow-up to her Grammy Award-winning 2018 album, By the Way, I Forgive You.
