Shaun Weiss, the former star of Mighty Ducks, has reason to celebrate after completing a court-ordered drug program and having the criminal case against him dismissed.
Weiss, who famously played the goalie Goldberg in the Mighty Ducks franchise, was arrested in early 2020 on burglary charges after being found rummaging through a garage. At the time of his arrest, Weiss was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine.
In the year and a half since then, Weiss has seemingly turned his life around. He entered a substance abuse program and has maintained his sobriety for the last 18 months. He was also gifted a new set of teeth.
Because of this, the District Attorney’s Office in Yuba County, California, has decided to drop Weiss’ criminal case. Weiss has “demonstrated perseverance during his recovery complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic,” the D.A.’s office said in a statement. “He had to move treatment and transitional living programs on several occasions. He underwent dental reconstructive surgery, and had a close family member suffer a serious accident during his treatment.”
