Disney+ has released a new trailer for Billie Eilish’s upcoming concert special Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. Check out the video below.
In this official trailer, Eilish can be seen performing her new album Happier Than Ever in full at the Hollywood Bowl with help from her brother and collaborator Finneas, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic as conducted by Gustavo Dudaeml and Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo. We also get a good glimpse into the animated portion of the film, which appears to capture Eilish driving through the city, dodging the paparazzi on the red carpet, and reflecting on her fame and awards.
“I definitely have fantasies in LA: a whole different world interwoven with my world,” she says during the trailer. “It’s a concert film but it’s also a story at the same time. It’s this kind of beautiful version of old Hollywood and the Hollywood Bowl is very timeless. This is my entire album, from front to back, in order. I’ve never done anything like this. We all have these idealized versions of ourselves in our head; this is a dream come true.”
The film was co-directed by Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Spy Kids) and Oscar-winner Patrick Osborne (Wreck-It-Ralph, Bolt). In it, fans will get to see Eilish bring massive renditions of her Happier Than Ever hits like “NDA,” “my future,” “Your Power,” “Therefore I Am,” and “Lost Cause” to life in a dreamy setting.
Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles will premiere on Disney+ on September 3rd.

This will be Eilish’s second film of the year, following Apple TV+’s documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, which reportedly cost Apple a casual $25 million. She may be young, but Eilish’s undeniable superstar status likely made Apple’s investment worth the big bucks. After all, her last album swept the Grammys and her latest LP had the second-largest one-week vinyl sales in 30 years, falling just behind Taylor Swift’s evermore.
