Here’s a Super Bowl-level word salad: Doja Cat has covered Hole’s “Celebrity Skin” for a new Taco Bell commercial. What’s more, the version features new lyrics from Courtney Love herself.
Doja Cat’s “Celebrity Skin” soundtracks a commercial titled, “The Grande Escape,” which is set to air during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. Taco Bell describes the visual as “an epic story of liberation from conformity and shows Doja Cat alongside others who escape from a clown college in pursuit of discovering Live Más for themselves. The spot is a depiction of the exhilaration and comfort that comes from honoring and celebrating being different.”
Ahead of Sunday’s Big Game, Taco Bell has shared a behind the scenes video of Doja Cat recording the cover and filming the commercial (watch it below). The song will be released on streaming services on Friday.
