Phoebe Bridgers’ world domination continued Wednesday, June 15th when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform her latest single, “Sidelines.” In a nod to the song’s title, Bridgers and her band wore skeleton-themed football uniforms and yardage markers were painted on the stage. Watch below.

“Sidelines” was written for Hulu’s series Conversations with Friends, an adaptation of Irish author Sally Rooney’s novel of the same name. The single, which we named Song of the Week, not only marked a new Bridgers era following 2020’s Punisher, but tied the artist even closer to the Sally Rooney Cinematic Universe after she began dating Paul Mescal, who stars in the Hulu adaptation of her novel Normal People. More recently, Bridgers covered Bruce Springsteen’s “Stolen Car” during a show in Asbury Park earlier this week.

Bridgers is currently in the midst of her lengthy “Reunion Tour,” (get tickets here). Also check out her recent on Kyle Meredith With…, where she discussed “Sidelines” and her upcoming gig opening for The Rolling Stones.
