The 1975 is an English pop-rock band formed in Manchester in 2002. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel.
The band gained popularity with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2013, which spawned hit singles such as "Chocolate" and "Sex". The album's unique blend of pop, rock, and electronic music, coupled with Healy's introspective lyrics, earned critical acclaim and a loyal fan base.
The 1975's subsequent albums, including I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It (2016), A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships (2018), Notes on a Conditional Form (2020), and Being Funny in a Foreign Language (2022) continued to showcase the band's genre-bending sound and thought-provoking lyrics.
