In addition to being frontman of a musician, a novelist, a poet, and an activist, The Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle is an avid fan of professional wrestling. His new album Beat The Champ is even inspired by the sport.
While in Chicago supporting Beat The Champ, we invited Darnielle into our offices for a conversation hosted by Colt Cabana, a professional wrestler and host of The Art of Wrestling podcast. They spoke about their childhood memories of watching wrestling, their favorite old school wrestlers, and why Darnielle was compelled to write Beat The Champ.
