Sludge-metal legend Kirk Windstein is a busy man these days. In addition to releasing his first-ever solo album, he’s also putting the finishing touches on the next Crowbar LP. And if that’s not enough, he recently rejoined the long-running metal supergroup Down.
Windstein’s debut solo album, Dream in Motion, was released in January, with the video for the title track debuting right here at Heavy Consequence.
We recently sat down with Windstein to discuss the solo effort. “I’ve been wanting to do something different than I’ve done in the past, whether it’s Crowbar, Down, Kingdom of Sorrow, or any of it,” he told us in the video interview above. “For a long, long time, I wanted to do a solo record, and the time was just right.”
The veteran metal musician also spoke on Crowbar, discussing the sludge act’s upcoming tour with Sepultura and Sacred Reich, as well as giving us a scoop on the band’s new album, which he expects to release in 2020.
