Kurt Cobain: Waxing Nostalgia or Exploiting a Legacy?

Our panel also discusses the new Batman v. Superman and Star Wars trailers, as well as the most influential musicians

Kurt Cobain

Welcome, rocker nation, to a brand new episode of Rock it Out! Blog. Every Friday, host Sami Jarroush rounds together an esteemed panel of critics, musicians, and comedians to discuss the week’s biggest headlines.

This week’s panel features Consequence of Sound Editor-in-Chief Michael Roffman, JBTV host Greg Corner, and WKQX-FM midday host Lauren O’Neil. Together, they break down the brand new teaser trailers for the upcoming Star Wars and Batman v Superman films and debate which one is more compelling. They also discuss the new Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck, and whether there’s a point when waxing nostalgia becomes exploiting a legacy. Lastly, they argue what musicians should have appeared on the TIME Magazine list of the 100 most influential people.

Additionally, comedian Kevin Kellam hits the streets of Chicago to get the public’s reaction to the Batman v Superman trailer, and CoS Art Director Cap Blackard gives us a rundown of the Star Wars Celebration convention.
