Music at the Movies: “Straight Outta Compton // Top 5 Music Biopics”

A discussion on the role of the music in the N.W.A biopic and our top five music biopics of all time

Calling all film lovers and music buffs! Welcome to another edition of Music at the Movies. We’re coming to you from our brand new home at the historic Music Box Theatre in Chicago, where you can catch some of the best independent, foreign, and classic films all year round.

Our host Blake Goble kicks off the episode by discussing N.W.A.’s biopic, Straight Outta Compton, and the significance music plays in the film. He also brings you a list of the top five music biopics of all time. Watch to find out if the top spot will go to Gary Oldman’s performance as Sid Vicious, a flawed but fun movie about Factory Records, or one of the greatest composers of all time.

Please present your ticket to the usher, purchase all your concessions, and grab a seat because the show is about to start! And make sure to head to the Music Box website to check out showtimes, upcoming special events, and much more.
