Are you someone that looks for new bands each day? Do you try to use the phrase I knew them before they were big in conversations? Well, then this shows for you. Welcome to #AreaCode, a brand new series on the Rock it Out! Blog that focuses on up and coming bands and artists from around the country.
For this installment, we make our first trip to #AreaCode 954 aka Ft. Lauderdale, FL as we profile up and coming hip-hop artist, GAPS. A staple of the Sunshine State’s indie rap scene, GAPS talks candidly about how tough it is to be a rapper in Ft. Lauderdale, why he doesn’t listen to any new music from mainstream artists, and what he has in store for the remainder of 2013. You’ll also be treated to performances of his songs “When Charlie Met Jeffrey” and “Tonight We Die”.
Be sure to check out GAPS at the inaugural Block x Blog Music Festival, presented by Consequence of Sound, Subculture, and 3-J Hospitality, on April 20th. Get your tickets here.
