Rock it Out! Blog: Jack White vs. the Media

Plus, the RIO!B panel discusses lame rock star antics and being creepy on Spotify

Welcome rocker nation to a brand new episode of Rock it Out! Blog. Every Friday, host Sami Jarroush rounds together an esteemed panel of critics, musicians, and comedians to discuss the week’s biggest headlines.

This week, our panel consists of Chicago Tribune writer Britt Julious, JBTV’s Greg Corner, and comedian Catherine Povinelli. We begin with a discussion on Jack White’s recent war of words against the media, and whether he has a valid point.

We start things off with a letter from Third Man Records addressing how the media blows Jack White’s words and actions out of proportion and discuss if White or the media is in the right. We also talk about the voyeuristic activity of spying on on your friend’s Spotify playlists, and lame antics we’ve seen from rock stars while on stage.

Also, comedians Kevin Kellam asks Chicago residents which Windy City music festival they’re most excited for this summer, and we give you a sneak peek at next week’s Treehouse Sessions episode featuring Girlpool.
