Welcome, rocker nation, to a brand new episode of Rock it Out! Blog. Every Friday, host Sami Jarroush rounds together an esteemed panel of critics, musicians, and comedians to discuss the week’s biggest headlines.

This week’s panel consists of Consequence of Sound Managing Editor Adam Kivel, staff writer Karen Gwee, and Vocalo.org host Jill Hopkins. A good majority of the episode is dedicated to David Bowie, who passed away last week at the age of 69. The panel discusses the Thin White Duke’s enduring impact across music, film, and pop culture as a whole. They also assess the magnitude of his death and debate whether he was the last true musical hero.

Finally, inspired by George Miller’s recent comments regarding the future of Mad Max, the panel highlights movie franchises that should finally call it quits.

Additionally, Leah Pickett brings you another installment of Top Songs of the Week, and we head to Chicago’s Kuma’s Corner to see how they make their latest Burger of the Month: The Deafheaven.
