This week's panel discusses how often bands should release albums, YouTube's new subscription service, and movies being adapted for television

Welcome, rocker nation, to a brand new episode of Rock it Out! Blog. Every Friday, host Sami Jarroush rounds together an esteemed panel of critics, musicians, and comedians to discuss the week’s biggest headlines.

This week’s panel includes Consequence of Sound staff writer Leah Pickett, comedian Mike O’Keefe, and Gabe Liebowitz, frontman of the Chicago band Dastardly. We begin by discussing a recent editorial by David Sackllah which poses the question: how often bands and artists should be releasing albums?

We also talk about YouTube’s new subscription service, YouTube Red, and whether it will be successful. Finally, we debate the recent trend of movie-to-TV adaptations, including Cruel Intentions, Training Day, and more.

Plus, Leah Pickett ranks the Top Songs of the Week, and we bring you an exclusive look at the first trailer for a beloved series that’s coming back to Netflix.
