Rock it Out! Blog: "RiO!Backstage – The Great American Music Hall"

There’s more to a music venue than what you see on stage, which is why the Rock it Out! Blog takes you behind the scenes of the best independent music venues from around the country in a new video series called RiO!Backstage.

This time, we’re heading out to San Francisco, CA to get an an inside look at the Great American Music Hall. Established in 1907, following the notorious San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906, the Music Hall originally started out as a restaurant and gentlemen’s club. In 1971, it turned into a jazz club before eventually opening its doors to other genres. Since then, bands and artists ranging from Jerry Garcia to Journey have performed and even recorded in this venue.
