This Finnish Band Dresses as Dinosaurs and Makes Heavy Metal Music for Kids

Heavy metal music has a strong foothold in Finland, especially among the country’s youth. Which is why the band Hevisaurus, a group comprised of dinosaurs that play metal songs for kids, is a smash success there. They’ve sold nearly 200,000 copies of their albums, were signed to Sony Music, and recently released a feature length film.

On today’s episode, Rock it Out! Blog host Sami Jarroush chats with frontman Mr. Hevisaurus and the band’s producer Nino Laurenne about their rise to fame. They discuss why none of their songs are meant to teach lessons to kids, their appeal to adults, and their plan to come to the United States in 2016.
