This Saudi Arabian black metal band forges ahead despite threat of arrest

An exclusive Q&A with Al-Namrood

Would you risk your life for music? In this exclusive Q&A, Rock it Out! Blog host Sami Jarroush chats with Saudi Arabian black metal band Al-Namrood. The band members, however, asked to remain anonymous because, if discovered, they could be imprisoned in their home country for their activities. Consequently, our conversation took place via messaging online in order to not give away the band’s identities.

The band reveals how they manage to record and release music in secret, their stance against religion in Saudi Arabia, and if they ever plan on leaving the country to make music elsewhere.
