Tommy Lee was meant to be in the middle of massive reunion tour with Mötley Crüe right now, but the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed those plans to next year. Instead, the drummer is preparing for the release of his solo album, ANDRO, which arrives on October 16th.

Last month, we ran Part 1 of our video Zoom interview with the veteran rocker, in which he discussed his upcoming solo LP and his newfound fame as a TikTok star. Here, in Part 2, he talks all things Crüe.

At the time of our conversation, an official decision had not been made regarding Mötley Crüe’s co-headlining stadium tour with Def Leppard, but it was pretty clear by that point that the outing would be postponed.

That said, Lee still relished in the thought of playing in front of the band’s fans again, telling us, “This is going to be something extraordinary … I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like, with that many fans pent up [after being in lockdown for so long].”

Lee also talked about Mötley Crüe’s decision to reunite despite agreeing that they would not tour again following their “Final Tour” that ended on December 31st, 2015.

“We were done … that was it. We all said goodbye to each other … we’re going out on top,” recalled Lee. “All of a sudden … Live Nation made us an offer to go do stadiums, and all of us were like, “Hold on a second, we’ve never done a stadium tour before. That’s f**king massive!”

Upon hearing that the stadium shows were starting to sell out, Lee said he was “f**king doing cartwheels.”

The drummer also spoke with us about the Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt, which debuted on Netflix last year, and played a large part in getting the band back together to tour again. Lee told us he was blown away by Machine Gun Kelly’s commitment and dedication to his role as the drummer.

Elsewhere in the interview, Lee discussed the 35th anniversary of Mötley Crüe’s Theatre of Pain album, his thoughts on late Rush drummer Neil Peart, and the influence that late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham had on him.
